Whenever I arrive in a new place, I am overwhelmed with ideas and information. From hardback travel guides and local recommendations to twenty-second TikToks, it can be overwhelming.
So how could I differ?
Apart from looking at all of these to get a broad range of information, I also solo travel in a way that feels right for me. I enjoy discovering sites that are more off the beaten path, though there are some popular attractions that are certainly worthwhile. I like spending some time alone, although I also enjoy meeting new people, so I tend to travel in a way that caters towards both.
I also try to travel mindfully. Sometimes that means spending more time in a place to gain a stronger understanding. Locally led tours or even concerts are more impactful and are often more interesting.
Finally, I don’t just list things to do. Instead, I incorporate tips for solo travellers and those aiming to travel more sustainably. If there was something I disliked, something I’d avoid, or just something to mindful of, you can count on me to say it as it is.
